Thread regarding CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield layoffs

May 29 CEO call

I used to look forward to the CEO calls, now they are an opportunity to catch up on other work. The first one to take us downhill was with some new VP they hired, no employees, but a cheerleader who has been on more TV, news, radio, media, etc. to cheerlead community stuff. The next was with another VP in business which was good, but out of touch. Today's call was a huge stink. Meredith who? No one in the company gets what Transformation is or does. A bunch of work to keep people busy with no value add. The comments i heard and examples of transformation are just things we should do as a matter of good business, but not transforming in nature. It's a joke. This company is a joke. Run far away once all this COVID lifts. CareFirst is a dying company, they can't transform, they have people running transformation with zero experience doing so. You do know they want to shrink the business by 20%, this is employees, nothing else, but under the guise of "transformation" - that's the joke. Goodluck carefirst - i will be seeking employment elsewhere. Employees care about their jobs, this CEO update did not talk about that at all, no reassurance, nothing.

Meredith has no clue. The company has no clue. BDP has the biggest lack of clues. Sadly BDP learned a bit from Burrell...hard to imagine. but Burrell might have been better. But they both have an immense belief that there is never ever anybody smarter in the room than them. They are wrong.
