Please cut staff at HR, they have so many of them at Studio Center it's a big joke and they don't do anything in the first place either other than shuffling papers around. If you are going to cut anyone cut them first.

403g is make pretend staff, if they want to lay you off, you are gone, im wondering if they can lay off staff when the BC is sold, but i assume selling the BC is on hold for 2 years or so because of the pandemic, Blackrock is not on the market right now due to the pandemic
Seniority has nothing to do with anything if you’re a 403g. They pick and chose who they let go.
The majority of 1212 union technicians have been home getting paid to do nothing this whole time...wouldn’t a furlough be a better idea vs just paying them to sit home bc they can’t perform their duties...makes no sense to me but I ain’t complaining
Also the union tech are very lazy...they do the most minimal job and get paid the most and STILL complain.
i believe union techs at BC that were hired b4 1987 are guaranteed for life, if a tech in 1212 was hired after 1987 then they could be laid off depending where on the seniority list they are
Don’t you know union technicians are untouchable? A few were laid off recently but they didn’t have the right connections. Once you’re in it’s a job for life. As the old saying goes hide and seek for a grand (+ plus) a week!
All the positions I received at CBS through the years I got them myself and HR never had a hand in it. I don't know why they are there in the first place. To do paperwork? Police work? The latter must be true.
HR at the CBS Broadcast Center in NYC:USELESS. Had a complaint 4 yrs ago against a Union tech supervisor.... many employees had similar complaints over the years/same issue/“uncomfortable in workplace”.... I was removed from the area (thankfully)... he was verbally abusive, controlling, manipulating and vindictive.
Numerous complaints in his file.... also documented that he took unapproved numerous days off without management knowing....theft of service.... HR did nothing regarding disciplinary action.
Supervisor yet still remains on the job after 25 years at CBS.
HR AT CBS BROADCAST CENTER... totally incompetent and useless... they DO NOT defend employees who have been victimized.
Karma catches up with the offenders however:
LES MOONVES
CHARLIE ROSE
CBS NEWS PRODUCER....etc.
Not to mention that HR is there only to protect the company from potential lawsuits. They are not actively protecting employees from harassment, sabotage, or abuse. In fact, they'll often get rid of the person who is the victim instead of dealing with the perpetrator. Ask me how I know......
CBS Studio Center in studio city has SO MANY HR workers...I mean they have so much it's ridiculous.
went from a team of 6 HR to one, who does about 90% work from home. this was all pre virus. if we saw her or her car, either was new hire or layoff/termination. everything HR did for us was for most part was eventually left up to us to manage. they certainly have outsourced or laid off TONS of HR over past decade.
I hope so. They really s—. They don't really do anything...they are just like the police...monitoring everyone...and remember they work for the company...they will always protect the company before helping you.
Don't worry- once the HR people complete their dirty work firing all of us in September they'll be next on the chopping block.
It's 2020. The papers can shuffle themselves.
But if they leave who will shuffle the papers?
