Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Let go on 6/30, just got paid one PTO day? HUH?

Hi all. I was let go on 6/30 and just got paid one PTO day this week. Does anybody have any ideas as to why? I thought I wasn't supposed to get PTO paid back, but if Macys is paying me back for my PTO days, shouldn't I get them in a lump sum? Or at least have been told about it? I'm very suspicious about this.

Oh, misread your question. We are shown our "total time" if we work the entire year to earn it, in Feb. So that doesn't mean we are "entitled" to all those days. You may use them all up and if you leave, they can technically deduct them from your last paycheck. But I don't think they ever do.

Yes. Beginning Feb 1st. We shut down March 17th and if you are still furloughed, then you only worked the month of Feb.

Does your total vacation time accrue for the year as of Feb 1, 2020?

Sorry ... that should say unused time

Right, for PTO you will be paid for any used time that has been accrued. This will NOT be included in the same check as your severance.

You only get paid for time actually accrued That’s the time you have earned this year.
