The final piece of the progressive totalitarian machine is in place with the new and improved performance management system. The provision is in place to add a high performance rating above the limit for every meets expectation rating that gets pushed down to a 4 or 5 rating. Rob from the middle to keep the hi-pots intact. As an added bonus, the subjective evaluation of 'how" you did your job will be used to keep anyone in the middle from moving up.
Very true, I see it all the time where those who work weekends and nights pass their work along to someone who presents just in time on Mondays.........also the sad think is those who present lack the technical knowledge of what they are presenting and for the most part the receivers lack the knowledge as well! Phillips 66 would have not even allowed this, margins are way to tight in refining and when financial decisions are made they are scrutinized by those who truly understand the business. COP still operates in a manner that is truly not cost and operational uptime focused, but more production focused.

I see nothing has changed since 2016 since I took the package. Usual get the "sour grapes, you aren't any good comment" followed up by multiple "the ones doing the work get their work displayed by others who take credit for it". Happened to me personally after about a year, I had someone show my exact presentation on a PL bid package with basically adding their name and project name to it. Ironically, I was sent this by my supervisor as something I should use for my work. Then I find out what happened, and I forwarded my supervisor the email where I sent the exact presentation bid package to the guy about 4 months before he even had a charge code. Anyway, nothing happened and I left as I refused to work with people like that. Best of luck to you all.
