It'll be tough. It'll be brutal. We'll come out of it a better company.

They sadly are doing the later. They are laying off Employees based on shift and getting rid of very good qualified employees. They will feel it. They are also loosing good experienced employees to other companies because of the merit raise cancellation and the pay decrease. I can’t see where they will be better off.
You are correct. And also, the poor management should be the first to go.
I can see it already, 10% of the staff gone but none of the Management
If they take the time to separate the wheat from the chaff so they can rebuilt with better employees then I agree. But if they simply layoff a certain qty of employees based off of job titles, shift, or length of employment then its a hard disagree. They'll only end up hurting themselves.
