Thread regarding GE Aviation layoffs

GE Aviation gets shaft

GE Aviation as usual gets the shaft. They are treated as second class citizens compared to other divisions. Other divisions give PBs, LPBs and SPBs bonuses, not aviation just SPs. As they layoff employees other divisions give much better severance. So why should people even consider aviation for the long run. No bonuses and raises and constant layoffs an reorganizations. Who gets the promotions now is those that cut people to save costs. DB just became officer after cut hundreds. CC moves up for doing the same. Don't talk to me about transparency as they only give lip service once something happens.

Started as a PB in the 80's. Retired early as a PB when facing being laid off. It was just a job, not much of a career. Looking back, no regrets. I agree. Too many SPs and EBs. Was cut-throat back then; it's probably worse today.

GE Aviation paying out the SP even though they said it was accrued was simply poor leadership and just another example of the mismanagement.

SP reporting to an SP who reports to an SP then EB is uncalled for. Remember in 1980s and 1990s it was de-layering which was not that bad at the time to have it grow to meaningless manager jobs overtime and still exists despite the layoffs.

PB jobs are the same as SP jobs today. SP became away to give raises and later bonuses regardless of what the work required was for a specific role. It really hard to think in the professional roles a rational reason to why someone wants to work there today! OK give you having a job now is better than not, but the next generation should look else where.

Nah, that picture has too few leaders sitting on top, definitely not GE...
