Wondering what is going on at Jcpenney as it seems only a couple of us got called back while most of the store is furloughed. They have us doing multiple jobs because they don’t seem to want to call anyone else back. Nice to work so many hours but wondering for how long. Is this how Jcpenney is operating since reopening?

I also got affected here at SoCal, only their favorites got called back.
I agree that some major favortism is going on in FRISCO DALLAS STORE too iam one of them got afftected by this
Its funny how some employees were fine staying home while they were getting the extra benefits from UI and didn't want to go back because of health reasons, but as soon as these extra benefits are about to expire are so glad to be back and don't care how many hours they work and now health is not a problem.
The UI benefits thing mentioned by the poster below me is sketchy AF. Sounds like some major favoritism going on in that store.
Then again this is JCP we're talking about.
Same at our store. We are running on a severe SKELETON crew. Also there are shady deals going on where some associates are only working a certain amount of hours so they can still receive UI benefits, while others are being forced to work max hours & lose benefits. Those of us who are working are getting sick from exhaustion. And the furloughed people come in and shop & it makes us SICK.
So it seems that Jcpenney wil lay off about 1,000 workers, of which some of those workers will receive a benefits package that includes severance and health-care coverage. Will it include some of the ones that are furlough?
Wondering about cashiers assistant jobs and supervisors ... are the positions gone?
