Supervisor has been on a borer op's case for a couple of weeks now and also has previous history. Supervisor wanted to discuss it in his office but operator wanted to discuss it with HR and the supervisor refused.

I doubt the 3 will ever change guys. I do feel that if anyone has an issue they should at least let hr know ! I work in the machine shop in Aberdeen and I can confirm the 3 are bully’s , sorry but no better way to put it . The 3 of them need to go and i think 100 % that the machine shop would be a much happier place. Everyone thought old boss was the problem but how wrong were we !!!!! I question the management above this 3, because if I was in charge I’d be questioning why everyone feels this way !
DQE and in particular the machine shop are stuck in a time warp. They are more than 20 years behind everyone else when it comes to ethics, technology and operating practices. While the competition evolve with the ages DQE stay in the past and don't like to change. They hate spending money and are miles behind even small m/c shops when it comes to tooling and machine technology. They are also stuck in a time when they think that bullying people in to get what they want is acceptable. They haven't grasped the concept that those day's are over and it's no longer tolerated. Scotland and the US have a completely different culture and work ethics and unfortunately Houston think that they can impose this kind of mentality on Aberdeen weather we like it or not by putting managers and supervision in place that will do their bidding. They are too stupid to realise that it won't happen and will continue to try and impose their will and that is why DQE will never succeed while you have the current id–ts at the helm in Houston.
Being new has nothing to do with it, they are supposed to be grown men who know how to treat people with respect and decency but instead are little boys who think they own the show. They have had supervisors/Foremans and charge hands before them so they should now from that experience how they want to be and how to treat people. They are nobodies who will struggle in the real world because quite frankly they are horrible individuals.
Being new has no relevance on being nice to people .
Some management encourage brown nosing, don't blame the supervisory level who are new to this level of responsibility.
Why do the Foreman and supervising team in machine shop do this to the guys . I’m from another department and can’t believe this is going on. It’s about time it was stopped .

You can be sure of one thing. When he goes back to the biscuit factory as a grunt like the rest of us the guys there won't put up with his rubbish.

I’m going to make a formal complaint in next few days in writing. This stops now .
I feel so sorry for the machine shop lads! They are correct when they say it’s run by Bully’s. These guys are disliked throughout Aberdeen base, so guys it’s being noticed everywhere.
This is a daily occurrence , I’ve heard the supervision and Foreman b–ching about operators numerous times. The foreman panics when hr is mentioned because he knows that what is going on is wrong . I urge anyone to speak to hr about these 3 and get it sorted because they need disciplinary. We are not there to be abused and ridiculed by them. It’s not the first time it’s been mentioned so hr would be on it very quickly I’d say. Dq could maybe have been a great machine shop without that 3. BLAKE get 3 people in who know what they are doing !!! And know how to treat people, your machine shop would be on your side then.
Go to HR -they will investigate it, take it seriously and deal with it appropriately.
Alternatively just leave it as is because haven’t all of you handed in VR anyway and you all want out?

There is no question in my mind that HR would deal with the situation correctly. The problem is supervision backing each other up and the lack of a 3rd party to confirm the complaint. This means its very hard to prove anything and HR have little choice to drop it.

This person can go straight to HR, they don’t need anyone’s permission, especially the Forman. Go with all the facts and I’m sure HR will deal it.
It won't get reported. It would be a waste of time. The same will happen as before. Supervision will close ranks and back each other up. The complaint would be thrown out and then that person would be singled out by supervision.

This supervisor is getting out of hand. Spoke to an operator like he was a piece of dirt on Friday. Operator went to complain to the foreman about it and to ask to speak to HR about it and the foreman begged him not to do it and talked him out of it.
