GE Additive Pittsburgh - Closing

GE's showcase of additive manufacturing that hosted the shareholders meeting in 2018 is closing.
A major GE Aviation project is shut down and the production will continue in Italy. Layoffs began during early COVID-19 and will continue in waves until total facility closure in early 2021.

Interesting times. Wonder what the strategy is for the Munich customer center and the R&D/production sites in Germany and Sweden? Additive manufacturing is indeed a future technology worth developing, there are a lot of material and design benefits that will come out of additive. But does the (new) upper management at Aviation and Company think the same?
