I’m a long time employee. I got laid off a month ago. I’ve been ghosted. I’m BROKE. I hope this company goes down in flames because they have left so many people Homeless and without a job. Bye Nordstrom! Who cares about your materialistic and expensive BS!

I had NOT been contacted by anyone in 4 months! I was trying to stay optimistic and hopeful to return to my position. I emailed my SM, DM and HR regarding my position? I immediately received a call from my department manager who was reading from a script. Only to tell me that my position was “eliminated.”
My counter had the number 1 increase over goal for 2019. This department manager only offered permanent positions to her favorite employees. I contacted HR and nothing was done. What a disgusting company to allow this to happen!
Didn’t get call, so I called up and HR says someone called and left me a message. They won’t tell me the phone # they rang. Anyway, as I didn’t call back or they couldn’t speak to me within stipulated time, they consider that as “abandonment”. WA Unemployment says No. Any ideas folks? Should I talk to lawyer? What’s this BS?
Got the call too, I accepted sales entire store, just above minimum wage ( call fro an unknown manager) they said “no hours available We will contact you when we do.” Saved for now.
Yep, got the call. I made wrong choice. No severance for me. You cannot go back and change it. Very angry now.
Be ready for a friendly phone call, they say assuredly “no right or wrong answer”, u say Covid 2nd peak concerns me, but I’m ready to work, They say “roles have changed will u accept a stock job for minimum wage? u say “hmm calculating the pay n my health insurance cost n 2nd COVID peak not really....” then They say without hesitation, “sorry to say then today is your last day.” Be ready for the call and accept the stock job otherwise “You Just Refused Employment” and you lose EDD pay n Nordstrom no longer has to pay you via EDD. SMH
Interesting... this is like a soap opera. Have anyone of u who got laid off contacted a reporter from Business Insider? She lists her contact info on older posts. She apparently look for some materials to work on.
I was at Nordstrom for just under 5 months. I was told in telephone “exit interview” that I’m eligible for severance pay. Nothing received. Is it true that I should get severance pay, anyone know!
