I think by August there will be a 2nd round of lockdown which will be the final nail in Macy’s company. Brook brothers is bankrupt and looking for a buyer , lord and Taylor is done , Nordstrom is taking a death blow , jcpenny is on its last leg. , sur la table just closed more stores down , barneys nyc is done , GNC is closing thousands of stores , walk threw a mall. The lights aren’t even turned on The mall is dark and gloomy. Zara is closing stores. So if the mall looks dead it’s only gonna be worse.

It’s unbelievable the attitude of some people on this forum. Thousands and thousands of people have been laid off from Macy’s between February and July and meanwhile the executives still vacillate between acknowledging that we are in serious trouble and also claiming everything is fine because Macy’s is different from all the other companies it is competing with. I remember being in a meeting where they took time to laugh at JC Penney’s for exploring financial restructuring and look where Macy’s is now. The hubris by the executives is creating a reality distortion field for everyone and it seems a lot of people are getting s—ed up into it. There is a domino effect going on here and Macy’s is a part of the dominos, it’s just further back in the line. If all the mall chains go out there is less reason for people to go to a mall and buy from Macy’s.
Several cities mayors in the state of Texas wants to shutdown there cities for 35 days. Coronavirus is spreading so fast that hospitals are over capacity. Macy's won't survive another shutdown for 35 days or longer. Actually all retail industry in the state of Texas won't survive.
To the ones who keep mocking by saying the “sky is falling”, companies go under all the time. You’re naive if you seriously think that Macy’s is no different. You honestly think Macy’s is going to be around in the long term?
Oh yeah and the sky is falling. Keep drinking the kool aid !
This fall is going to be deadest and darkness winter ever. The second wave of coronavirus is going to get worse. Brace yourself!!
You forgot Bed Bath and Beyond (BBY) – latest is they are closing 200 stores. I agree that M will not exist by 2022 holiday season.
You forgot "the sky is falling!"
