HR is not answering

I was on hold for 50 mins when I finally hung up. No answer. Wtf... is everyone fired? I need some questions answered.

I had to wait almost 2 hours but finally spoke to a Colleague Support associate. Was told they are dealing with between 25,000 to 30,000 laid off colleagues, hence the wait time and backlog of getting your severance emails.

I've worked at several companies, including Macy's corporate offices in San Francisco, and Macy's HR is the WORST ever. They're so so bad, they should just slink away in shame. They create an atmosphere of chaos and dysfunction. When they attempt to answer the most basic questions, they get it wrong, and they always kiss up to execs, who are nice but clueless about how to lead teams. I'm sure HR didn't get hit hard by layoffs, because that's how Macy's rolls, but I look forward to the day when they too are kicked to the curb and have to turn out the lights.

because those people don't know at ask HR. they can't handle the call volume and they don't know all the rules especially for all the different stores.

I held on for 2 hrs finally got through to HR. He answered almost all my questions, but was kind of clueless on the way things were handled. 5 days notice and 15 weeks without a paycheck because I went flex. Oh yeah my boss promised she would call me back. I get nothing no severance. They all down right lied, my boss said this is not forever then why the hell did you get rid of me I made $11 a hr and worked 1 day a wk And did all the damages, rtv’s nixes markdowns and non congruent it’s like my job never mattered. Hr suggested I try and collect unemployment 21 yrs and I lost my lifetime discount because I changed from full time to flex.. this is really giving me nightmares. I feel for all of you that lost your job it HURTS. One thing is I do work in a hospital ER I have been there since this whole Covdid19 started we were there when patients came in non stop gasping for air Putting them on vents, telling family members they couldn’t come in. Right now we have no covdid pats but they are preparing for the second wave.. please all God Bless and be safe. Macy’s will NOT survive another lockdown, get out while you can!

A called back employee at a store told me the employees who are working there get help to get through to HR. The laid off, etc. don’t get much now.
