Anyone know if Severance payments affect our unemployment benefits?

Don’t need to report when Nordy gives you store coupons...
I think every state is different, but in California, you do have to report it. Based on my research, it will not count as income and shouldn’t affect unemployment. I’m not an expert and this is purely based on my research on California.
