Can you still get the employee discount when you are laid off? I think you can with some kind of combination that includes how many years you worked and your age.

You had to be 55 already and with 15 consecutive years of service at the time you left to keep the discount. No reinstatement at 55

Give credit a call. I called credit today because I had 20 consecutive years in plus met the age minimum when I was laid off. Credit said HR or MCCS will be sending me a letter within 7-10 days with the answer to let me know if I still have the discount.
I had more than 15 years of consecutive service, but left before I turned 55. I recently turned 55 and asked about my employee discount, and was told I had to be 55 at the time of termination. That doesn't sound like what I was told when I terminated. I thought my employee discount was supposed to be re-activated when I turned 55. Has anyone else experienced anything like this?
As long as you meet the lifetime discount criteria and weren’t termed for cause you should be eligible for the discount.
My status was fixed in a few days after I called employee credit. I think the key is to speak with employee credit rather than regular credit reps. Pre Covid-19 they worked 8-5 M-F. I received notification of a case being created and then resolved. When I looked at my account online it showed the correction. I didn’t have to wait multiple billing cycles.
So being laid off and also meeting one of the two ways posted would qualify for the lifetime discount?

Should have discount for life - coded wrong -said it was fixed but they never connected with credit card company.

The FAQ section says “if you leave, etc.” so I wasnt sure about if you could still receive it from a layoff. I did one of the two you stated.
I believe you are still eligible for the life time discount as long a you weren't termed for cause. I know of a few colleagues from the Feb reduction who have received it.
Would layoff be the same as retiring to still receive the discount?
25 consecutive years of service or 15 years of consecutive service + age 55 or above.
I'm a retiree. I had to contact employee credit (phone number on the card but ask for employee accounts) who had to open a HR case to change my status to retired in order to receive the discount.
There are examples in the FAQ section of Ask HR detailing life time discount qualifications that are helpful.
