Ours is allowed 100 total! Not enough hours for even coverage. Sometimes only 1 opener to do both areas and one closer to close both areas. What is up with hardware and tools being so f—ed up in how everything is ran? Ive worked all areas of the store.Hardware and tools are by far the worst areas and badly managed.

Its the same in my store. Those departments have constant turnover, because they have so much product to be putting away constantly that they’re always getting injured. That’s if they’re not being pulled into other departments as coverage because they’re considered expendable.

Sometimes you get management teams that try to juice the bottom line by cutting the largest variable cost which is labor. The good news is these teams never last long as their stores look horrible, but you’ll still have to wait 6 months to a year.
It’s understaffed so that the “Market Teams” can be overcompensated for being useless.
Many departments are staffed like that. Our paint department has a gap of several hours between the opener (6am to 3pm or 2pm if they don’t get a lunch) and closer (5pm).
