Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Can you still collect unemployment if you are getting severance? I hear mixed messages on this site.

In PA you cant collect both - have to go thru severance before collecting UC again - you do however need to Reopen your claim if you were furloughed came back n then laid off in PA Each state is different

Check your state but if you receive your severance after 30 days of your last day there shouldn’t be any lapse in unemployment.

Check with the state employment services where you live. They usually have FAQs on their web pages that would assist you. If not contact them by phone.
Usually you must report any income you have during a period of unemployment.
