My store lost AP altogether in February which is terrible because we are a high-theft store. The role was dealt to the Store Manager as well as many other jobs...sigh... it has been us colleagues and Leadership trying our best to deter theft within company policy guidelines. And let me tell you, it is difficult. Seeing known shoplifters and all we can do is "customer service". Thankfully with staff at only 30% and 2 registers open per wrap-stand, we have used colleagues to stand at the doors which has been highly successful.
probably just the high turnover that is macy's!!!
Visual TIPS job USED to be alot of creative wallscaping training assoc / mgrs on basics of merchandising and MtMs on standards layering ,creative merchandising ,signing standards ... who KNOWS what the job is and that matter how long it will last if business isnt good. Dont want to sound negative but i personally dont think anyone will care / visual merch wont be anyones priority as teams are already overwelmed
I think they moved people around so that they could save as many jobs within stores as possible, but the one area that people couldn't be moved into from another department would be AP - makes sense that those would be the only jobs.
Don't believe Taleo would be accurate right now.
My store never had OAPM... was always APM. Didn't have anyone on my team cut this time around. We seem to be the lucky ones I heard other stores in the district lost a few APD's and now have no executive to report to other than Store manager– either OAPM is now OVM or laid off.
They told every door they were getting an AP Manager and then 2 mins later took that away. So some doors probably got an AP Manager and some didn’t. It all depends on the volume the door holds I’m sure.
There is this one new position called Visual TIPS. Anyone know what that is? Seems like a traveling Visual Manager or something.
Also, if you search Macys jobs at macys.taleo.net you will view MANY more jobs than AP.
No, they are OVM now and AP is a separate dept altogether.
