Your prepaid card will be cancelled. You will have to apply for a new regular Macy's card. Pre-paid cards are only available to employees. I found this out when my job was eliminated in the 2017 m—acre. I received no notice and only found out it was cancelled when I tried to use the card. It let me put money on the card, but wouldn't let me use it. I had to wait for a refund check....for a month.
I got laid in Feb. Macys will auto send a new card (AE) to you.
Yes, a prepaid card is just for your discount while employed. It does not roll over to a regular account. If you have 25 years continuous service OR 15 years continuous service and are 55, you are eligible for lifetime discount and you would then apply for a new card later.
prepaid cards are only usable as an active employee. it does not "roll over" to a regular account. there is a reason you did not get one at the time of hire.
The prepaid card does not roll over into a regular card. You would need to reapply.

I was terminated. My regular Macy's card still works but with no employee discount.
The account is closed when employment is terminated.
