Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Haven't been called back and haven't been laid off

Basically, I'm living in Macy's limbo which feels more and more like hell to me. After this month, I'm not sure what I'm going to do if I'm still in this position. How many more people are still furloughed? What are your plans after July ends? Wait it out or start looking for a new job? Is it even possible to find a new job now?

Sounds like you are Go Forward - Remain on Furlough. Company is still paying your benefits if you have any, and you are eligible for unemployment. Call your store weekly to see if they have a return date for you. We have some returning next week, others will be the last week of July

You should start a job search. Why twiddle thumbs waiting on others to determine your future?

They are hoping business will pickup and customers will return keeping you on a standby will call status. They will only cover your benefits for a short period.Finding a job in the retail industry will be very difficult.Explore other areas outside retail.
Definitely call your store manager to verify your status.

Regardless of whether you eventually get called back or not, you should start looking for another job.
