Thread regarding SeaWorld Entertainment Inc. layoffs

Does SeaWorld have a future?

Enough of these furloughs are being made permanent that I don't even know if SR thinks SeaWorld will come out of covid alive ..

Anyone see things differently? Looking for hope in strange places

Reference: Animal cages — probably for transporting the animals used in the now closed Pets Ahoy. The contract company that did the show went out of business because of sea world being shut down. The animals were theirs. I’ve heard they all gone to good homes 😢.

It may come out of covid alive, but type "seaworld" into any social media platform and tell me what you think.

I know 4 Dolphins are going to a facility under construction in the US that is smaller than dolphin nursery. But they don't care where they send them.

So what's the deal with all the animal transport cages across the canal from nautilus. In parking at gate 3? Looks like enough for most of what we have left. And they don't look like our transports

I am not saying that is why the Zoo team is there every day. I am saying that's the way SR and the upper leadership will look at it. Do you really think SR and others REALLY give a sh– about the animals in our care? They don't. If they did they would not put the Zoo team through hell on getting resources they need.

Down vote my comments all you want, but its true.

That's a terrible representation of why we have animals and what we do.

I don't know if it will go to bankruptcy and getting rid of all the animals in the short term... but I do believe it has a future and one that the bulk of us that have spent years at the park will not like. The animals are good for press. Whether its good or bad. As long as the park can use the rescues for the good press they will keep doing it. Once they no longer can do so, it will swap to just holding what we have and as they die... or get transferred that will be it. I want to personally get back so I can at least have a job until the worst of this pandemic is gone.. but after that I look to move on anyways.

Naples is a great place. Lots of old money. Beautiful beaches. Best of luck to you. You’ll love it there.

Burn it to the ground. I could care less. I was just hired with an awesome company in Naples Florida. Better pay, global company. I start in 3 weeks.

Yes, but not in the way many people on this board would like.

They’re definitely going to declare bankruptcy before the pandemic is over, liquidate assets such as the animals, and focus on more cost cutting and ride building.
