Most of the jobs are for finance, supply chain, bus.&commercial, IT, etc. i thought we were an oil company managing and developing 3 million boepd?

managed moves? what happened to all that talk of transparency?
I heard some functions did not post some of their jobs at those levels and did manage moves.
Will round 3 folks have to repost for their jobs?
A bunch of the PSG 28-30 Petrotech line management jobs were filled as part of the Region and CTC Daisy Chain back on April 1. Word is those folks don’t have to repost since they were just selected and announced April 1.
Most of the people in IT, HR and SCM are lucky if they have a college degree. I know people in Wells and Ops, O&M with high school diplomas only.
High psg’s for support groups are fine, but, it is way lopsided per OP with only 10% similar jobs for petrotechs. Its way out of balance. If Petrotech jobs are closed and support group jobs are open then once again it is way out of balance. Why?
There should be a High level place for Petrotechs to be promoted to. If those positions are closed then why? Per The OP most high level positions are in support groups. Petrotechs are the ones who find, develop, and bring the product to the surface to generate the revenue for decades into the future. What is the message sent?
@jbe+15DWQkAM Why are support function PSGs demotivating? What can you do with oil pulled out of the ground if you don't have the technology or supply chain to help move it through the value chain, or qualified people to do those jobs? People who have risen to those levels are responsible for substantial decision making that enables the business. The fact that they may not be petroleum engineers makes them no less valuable to the overall success of the company. Personally, I don't want lesser experienced, lesser qualified, lower PSG individuals responsible for what GMs are asked to manage.
PSG 28s+ don't really do any geology or engineering now do they? Maybe some SMEs I suppose. Most geologists and engineers at that level are are not performing technical roles although a few of the so-called advisors & supervisors at that grade think they do. Plenty of PSG 22-27s to fill any future gaps.
Because most PSG 28-30 Subsurface and Wells positions are CLOSED. They were not even open and are managed-moves!
Yes please share the postings. CTO tool is blocking everyone else under PSG 27. In past ROM's and ESP's we were able to see all jobs up to PSG 30.
Anyone can do IT, especially IT supervision/management positions. Look at previous IT LT, there are many examples of where they didn’t come from IT.
too many petroleum and geologists...relative to activity levels and expected activity for next 5 years. Salaries in industry were too high and now they must reduce numbers and salaries. Many more cuts to come. Downstream and chemicals are actually short people, but it is hard to train a geologist or drilling engineer to do downstream and chemicals work. Better to Lay off and hire experienced downstream and chemicals.
I have ALWAYS been surprised by how high the PSG's are for those support positions. I was astonished when I saw Supply Chain, IT, HR, Learning & Development GMs' PSGs. Very demotivating.
Transforming to win.
No one gonna shed a tear over 28-30 PSG lost I’m sure they will be fine
Can someone share what all is posted? If it is not your round can you see jobs?
Transformation is taking place.
No need for rock jockeys at those PSGs given changes to the company portfolio. Down streamers now run the show.
