Thread regarding Pratt and Whitney layoffs

Worst may be over, pray for it

VSP was announced today (2019 was the last time). Furloughs and actual layoffs of production personnel might deepen by years end. Air travel is beginning to slowly recover, so the worst may have finished, but pray for better weather still.

You make it sound like all of commercial engines is going under. We still have GTF's in the field that are undergoing upgrades, and the aftermarket still has to function with MRO with some customers flying. My area of CEE is still incredibly busy at the moment, we have tons initiatives still occurring. If anything, operations, production and a lot of quality will take a hit, marketing, com, HR, supply chain too.

Hayes’ message made it clear that any position that’s not explicitly military or R&D is at risk.

What is the firing order for the next layoffs? Production personnel only?
