NBC NY: "New York City is following through on its promise to celebrate Independence Day this year with Macy's iconic fireworks show ..."
I know there's an expectation of massive layoffs this week. But would Macy's really lay off tens of thousands of employees, then immediately fire off a bunch of fireworks in celebration? I know the 'celebration' would be for July 4th, not the layoffs, but what a visual that would be nevertheless.
