Outsourcing !!
Captain of the will be left alone on the ship after all the people are gone. They will shut down the port soon. This is an analogy.
Every industry is a bubble after covid. Company revenues are down by 30-40 percent. No vaccine for corona yet.
This is hell ! Seasons in the abyss !
Houses should be 200-250k max. Prices in the Bay Area and across major cities in the world are insane. This is a teaching lesson for human species who are full of greed. It will all collapse soon !

In this new reality of working remotely, do you really think American companies will pay more to have employees in any particular country? I think this move will result in more jobs being outsourced, not less.

When are companies going to learn that outsourcing jobs to another country to save on wages doesn't save money overall or improve quality and delivery time?

Another comment mentioned "Much better and cheaper talent abroad". Cheaper, yes. Much better, probably not. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there is better talent abroad just like there is better talent here. But better talent costs more and when you drive the wages down, you get lower talent.

Far too often at places I've worked where development is outsourced, the communication lag between the people writing requirements or people testing the work and the people doing the work abroad cause significant slowdowns in delivery.

Requirements are written and sent to the outsourced development team. They ask for clarifications to the requirements and wait 12 hrs for a response. Requirements writers make a clarification. Hopefully they don't have to do this multiple times, burning 24-hrs for each question and answer loop. Then the developers write the code and send it in for testing. Many times, they didn't meet the requirements, but for the sake of argument, we'll say they're talented and did meet the requirements. Then the testers spend a day testing and find issues. They request changes. Usually there's a back-and-forth over what do they mean, argument that they did it right, whatever. Then the work gets updated and gets tested again. You've burned another 2-5 days with this back and forth.

How is paying someone cheaper wages to wait for answers from someone in a timezone 8-12 hours offset cheaper than having people in the same timezone?

Cisco has already sold half of the buildings at headquarters. Lets move some more jobs to India.

Buy an advertising campaign on gender equality, while slowly sending all the jobs to India. India is well known for women's empowerment.

Good luck with that. Companies will move the jobs overseas. Much better and cheaper talent abroad - and with the added value of being people who know how to work with diversity.
