Ha ha.
Dril Quip are the number 1 leaders on how to treat people badly.
A s— a#s company and that will never change. Most of the problem with treating people badly is down to the id–ts in charge all the way from the top to bottom of the company.

At the end of the day this isnt the fault of dril quip , the backside was falling out of oil anyway ..... then along comes covid to speed up that process , too many of you guys moaning are used to the easy life , probably survived various down turns ..... bottom line is this ......... maybe its just your/our time , what will be will be ...... dry your eyes , s— it up and move on ..... theres more to life

The reason you don't know is simple. Houston don't have a clue what they are doing either.

When we reached the second week of June with no information I thought this is tactical then when we got into the third week I was thinking incompitance but now that we are wherever we are and still no information it can only be sheer spite fullness. You can almost here then say LET THEM SWEAT

Exactly 5 weeks of being treated like everything is like normal and expected to work as usual to get jobs done on time, not talk to anyone on other shift, not step away from machine or b late for morning safety meetings! Like any normal person would give a damn.

This won't happen over night. Even once the states inform Aberdeen of the plans HR need clarification to see if it is all legal in this country. Then they have to inform department managers, prepare letters to inform employees, elect reps then finally the consultation. The consultation alone will be 30-45 day's depending on numbers. At a very minimum you are probably looking at the start of August before they can let anyone go but don't be surprised if it is longer while they have furlough available to them.

Dril quip will do what they are famous for and treat everyone as badly as possible during this whole process! they are experts in the art of demoralising people so yes expect to get used for the foreseeable before getting sacked

DQ in Aberdeen are going to be in no hurry to push through redundancies while they can use the furlough scheme. They can keep people on their books while they sit at home getting their wages paid by the government but DQ can also recall them at anytime should things change and they need bodies to get work done. You will also have people looking for alternative employment while they are furloughed meaning should they move on then DQ get out of paying redundancy packages. The furlough is a complete win, win for DQ while it also means employees still get a wage so don't expect them to be in a rush to carry out the redundancies as furlough can last up to the end of October.
