Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

I am a Department Supervisor in ISLG and I feel like I’ve spent the majority of this pandemic chastising customers and pulling them off of employees. Yesterday, I was passing the front end when I saw a customer do what you described but not only stood next to the cashier but was grabbing her arm. I went off on him. Fortunately a bunch of customers assisted me, basically got him to leave the store.

I’m tired of the associates feeling like they have to let customers stand close to them, touch them, and just constantly harass them verbally and physically all day long because they feel like managers don’t have their back. It makes me sick. But hopefully in my store, they know that I have their back, even though I got pulled into the office and threatened with a write up for my “behavior “. I told the ASM and store manager that the shame is on them. They have no one to blame but themselves for this environment.

We were discussing this yesterday at my store. Customers need a screen where they can watch as sales are rung up, that is why we have customers standing down at the bags so they can watch the screen. Lowe’s needs to rethink the whole check out experience not just their sh–ty register software. The register area needs to be bigger with much less c-ap everywhere so that lumber carts loaded down with doors or plywood can be check out at the front end.

Had a man come in today and stand next to the bags around the plexiglass. I was ringing and bagging his things when I looked up and he's right next to me almost in my face with no mask. I told him sir if ur gonna come in here u need to have something on ur face.

He continues to stand in the store and try and pay and the customer at the register next to us yelled at him for not having one as well. Safe to say he was offended and said u can't think this is real?!? My head cashiers really don't care. Customers r fighting with each other and getting p-ss-d at us for it. How much more r we supposed to take?

I often wonder what customers tell their circle of family/friends after something like this. I would hope that one of them who is kinder and smarter would just say to her, "Why didn't you just do as asked? You probably would have been waited on faster if you had just honored the request asking that you back up for a minute or two." Really glad that you got support from your team...
