We've been BOPIS for a while and now have an opening date. The number 1 call has been about returns. For those that have opened, how did the first day go? Were you slammed with returns? How were the customers? Did you hit capacity and have to limit access at the door?

We opened on Friday. We had plenty of hours to schedule for Friday and Saturday. Friday was a lot of returns. Saturday was super busy with a fair amount of returns. Sunday started the new week with a ridiculously low amount of hours. There were only 4 associates (including managers) scheduled all day. It was a madhouse, we were slammed, lines everywhere. And now BBB is taking away our hazard pay. Thanks BBB!
We opened Friday and it was actually very calm and orderly.
Returns felt no more than an average day, most customers had masks (not required here), everyone respected the 6 foot social distancing guidelines. Alot of customers didn't even know it was our first day opening and thanked us for working. It was a breathe of fresh air how kind people were. Knock on wood since it was only day one.
As far as PPE the company will supply you with a mask and gloves every shift if you dont have your own. There is a cleaning routine in place and I believe all stores will have the protective barrier at each register. Lines did get a little backed up since you can not open up a register directly next to someone else but it was backed up from people shopping, not returns.
For stores that opened to the public already, how about PPE - what did the company provide? Masks, Plexiglas, etc.?
With the stores not taking returns, I can't imagine much in the way of business, at least not at my location.
Beyond slow, is that surprising? BBB wasn't exactly lighting up the scoreboard with sales before the pandemic.
you say northeast r u including NY in there? and r u including CTS stores in your info or just BBB

Pray ur phone rings if you are full time!
There will be more permanent layoffs not all staff returning. Especially full timers.
Ratio of full time will be much less at least to start.
Most pt returning soon. Asm starting to come back this week
Stores will Open on reduced store hrs. To start.
However I don’t see bbb keeping the furlough forever. Don’t be surprised if Your furlough turns into a permanent layoff.
But Enjoy the xtra $600 and reg unemployment with peace in your lives.
Stores are running on skeleton crews and workload is as usual unimaginable.
Receive the freight. Then next day you put it away.
In between pull customer orders and do curbside pickup. All the while the phone is ringing off the hook. Plus a new covid19 cleaning schedule.. This is with 3 employees for curbside pick ups.
Florida , Friday
Beyond slow, I could count the customers on 1 hand.
