Thread regarding Hertz layoffs

Poor management

I’ve been working for Hertz for almost three decades and have seen this company slowly crash to where it now. The problem is upper management the; decision makers, these dinosaurs are only in it for themselves, they are never held accountable, it’s the poor minion at the front lines that pays the price.
Simple everyday tasks are convoluted and wasteful to carry out at Hertz, trying to get anything done efficiently is impossible and when you bring up the problems to upper management you are labeled as a complainer. When decisions or policies are made you must carry them out blindly and unfortunately it seems to be at all management levels, they see the mess, but nobody wants to stick their head out.

The record revenues are an indicator. Revenue company but not a profit company. Bonus' tied to Revenues produce these outcomes. Tie the bonus' to profits and things would be managed better.

Hertz has a lot of young ignorant people working for them who only care about looking good to there higher ups and will do anything to look good, even if it means trying to destroy people’s reputations, they have managers sleeping with hr and other departments and sh– on the people under them, I have seen more back stabbing and deceitful sh– in my 8 years at hertz then anyone can imagine, i have seen managers cover up stealing just cause they like that person, but fire someone for no reason other than not liking them,

I work for insurance companies as a P&C agent. I was wondering what happened to Hertz. The frequently are out of cars for claims. In addition the cars are in horrible shape. They used to be great. I have watched the decline as an outsider.

It goes beyond poor management, we have people who do not have the same core values. Its do what I say and not what I do. I am going to take away your resources and raise the bar daily! I will not support you instead I will blame you. I don't care about the reality of the situation I just want to look good in front of senior leaders. I am here to make myself look good.
