Thread regarding IBM layoffs

I hope someone does an expose on what was done to IBM to go from $112B company down to $77B

I commented on here a couple months ago then left for a better job very end of Feb.

I’m not a fan of polishing the brass on the titanic.

I mentioned how Ginni gutted the company all the way to the bank with nothing but lies and a canyon of money for herself and the same team that helped destroy the company.

Now she steps away before the slaughter laughing her but off.

There is a pandemic and that I get BUT this truck was headed for a brick wall way before that.

I hope someone does an expose on what was done to IBM to go from $112B company down to $77B

Execs stayed and got paid while the people executing on their direction got fired every time one of the execs hair brained ideas failed.

They should teach a class in university on the fall of ibm.

Don't forget that IBM is supposedly a tech company, and while IBM was shrinking, virtually every other tech company was growing at fantastic rates during all of those years.

Warren Buffet called her a liar and sold ibm shares a couple years ago. That says a lot about her. Add to that dramatically over paying for Red Hat at 33b. VMware laughed at ibm after that when they purchased pivotal for pennies compared to that. I spoke to a former iBM ceo about that acquisition and he said “she’s out of her mind. She must be getting a massive acquisition bonus on her way out for that purchase. Either way, over paid and will not get ibm where they need to be.” Up is down and down is up in this era of rewarded incompetence.

And she just joined the board of JP Morgan Chase. Current market cap $278 Billion. Let's see if she can work her magic on their company as well. Estimates on what JPM market cap will be in 1, 3, 5 years? https://www.marketwatch.com/story/jp-morgan-chase-adds-ibm-chairman-ginni-rometty-to-its-board-of-directors-2020-05-19

Either way they win:

Business up > beat chest, claim leadership, $20M bonus payout
Business down > cut resources, claim leadership, $20M bonus payout

It is sad really. A great company going down the tubes just like GE. No money spent on R&D. Sales pipeline drying up. Financial fiddling, sad.
