Curbside stores rant

Someone please tell me it's just the store I'm at that customers are being beyond rude. I'll admit it now, I've cried every shift. People keep calling to yell over returns, tell us how awful we are for not opening and just being plain out disgusting rude. It's so tiring, I can't imagine how bad they will be when we open. End rant.

To Lauren -
It's one thing to feel ripped off totally understandable, it's another to yell at the first person that answers the phone that has ZERO control over anything.

Try finally getting your job back and working at a store just to be bombarded with customers yelling at you about how YOU are the worst and how YOU cant solve their problem when online and stores are two separate things.

Not saying that you personally did this, but everyone that has a problem with online seems to think calling the store and blaming some part time worker is the new go to and it's wrong. It's time people learned that there is a real human on the other side of the line that isn't the cause of your frustration.

I don’t know about curbside, but as an online customer I can tell you that affiliate World Market seems to have stopped shipping anything and halted any access to the customer service # or chat. When you try to reach them online, you get a computerized response. Apparently BBB customers are having the same issue. It feels like the entire company is going under. Everyone understands a shipping delay, but this feels like fraud. No one likes to get ripped off.

I will answer the real question of this post. Also a curb side store and you are not wrong, the customers are worse then ever! At every level from part time associate to store manager in our store has gotten extremely frustrated with the customers and how they are acting. They tell you their feeling on the fact that we are not open, the fact that we are not taken returns, etc etc and it is the stores fault that whatever has happened in their like to make it so awful has happened. You are not wrong they are making this awful. There is that other little bit that is so nice and is very grateful and I try to remember them but u fortunately the other one es are louder.

I have worked in retail and with the public many years. People are often rude. Some are also nice. Not everyone is a fit to work with the public. Just seeing some of the posts on this board I can tell it. I am not trying to sound mean but if you are crying every shift I think it is time to think about a non people job.. You should not be getting verbally abused but sadly it happens. Try to let it go if you remain in a retail job. If you cannot change fields. IWhat I see on this board a lot is posters thinking their issues are BBB specific. They are not. Big.Box retail is more alike then different.

There are 2 stores in NH doing curbside. The states around New England have yet to ease their restrictions.

I don't see one stores n New England that even has curbside pickup. CPU is a total marketing hoax to make Wall Street feel more comfortable with BBB. Try to find a pickup location for a never out item near 02116, Downtown Boston. No stores are available for pickup. Why should I order online and wait a week????

Anyone who feels they are working in a unsafe environment should report it by filling a complaint at www.labor.ny.gov/covidcomplaint

#1 thing before stores reopen is to have the appropriate equipment to keep Employees & Customers SAFE

LOL Managers taking the abuse? That's what the associates are for! They swoop in, hand over a coupon without listening to the complaint, and as fast as they appeared they've vanished. All kidding aside, when we reopen you bet the managers at our store will be hiding in their offices fielding everything to the department leads, sorry, "LODs". And support from the district managers? What district managers? They'll be safe sheltering at home like they were before we closed, cracking jokes about COVID from the comfort of their living room armchairs (looking at you, MB), while associates at my store were falling sick one by one, one of them almost losing their life. The district managers are apparently "essential employees" that need to be protected, not us who work in the trenches who were told we were an "essential business" even though we sold nothing essential at our location. We're reopening way too soon, with no safety measures in place, and we'll be expected to be grateful for the "opportunity." And you just know our leadership hasn't taken the opportunity to fix the broken parts of the business during this downtime.
Sorry, I'm just ranting, but damn, the closer we get to reopening the more I'm convinved were going to go back to the same old sh*t, nothing will have changed.

I would not wish the amount of verbal abuse our store has gotten on any one. I really hope everyone else's open is going much smoother.
