Thread regarding Macy's Inc. layoffs

Vacations and Use of PTO,s

This has taken so much from us in a way we would normally run our daily lives and now it’s as I think going to be a bigger problem for all of our stores.
When we do finally get back we are going to want to take our PTOs and Vacations to see love ones and family and do everything the way we would for summer and all the other events we all have going and want to be apart of.
Because of the lost of time that we would have taken already and now going forward it’s going to be condense in a shorter period of time for when WE ALL want to take our time and with all of the Black out Days and maybe a smaller group of people to run our stores I see a big problem.
I think they should add more days to be able to take.
Or because we were not working at this time .. did we lose our time because we didn’t earn it??
Oh.. boy this is going to be sticky

You will continue losing PTO as long as you are out

Check your message center in InSite. The company just updated "your PTO entitlement" amounts, and deducted PTO hours to allow for the time I was furloughed. So I lost 7 hours of PTO time that I had in my "bank" before the furlough...

"RE: Update to your PTO Entitlement
As stated in the COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions, furloughed colleagues may not accrue PTO time while furloughed (see excerpt below).

Now that you have returned to work, your PTO entitlement has been updated to reflect the time you were on furlough. The adjusted entitlement is reflected in the MTO system and is the new amount of PTO that you are eligible to use for the 2020 fiscal year. If you have questions about your revised entitlement please open an AskHR case using the Absence category and PTO Entitlement sub category. "

Someone is lying if they told you no PTO until September. I took a day last week and it's on my payslip to be paid on this Friday.

YOU CAN SCHEDULE AND TAKE YOUR PTO! Normal blackout rules apply for your family if business, and also no one can take it June 14-21 because we are socwhirt staffed for the week of Father's Day. Schedule your time for June and July and forward and don't feel guilty about it!

There’s another post about pto and someone stated they are not paying out pto and company said no pto will be “paid”. So let us know if you don’t get paid.

I didn't say you can't use your pto, I was told we could not use it until a few month from now. Also stated this may be a location type "clause" I am going by what my boss told me and she's always upfront and doesn't play games. Not trying to imply we are not entitled to EVER use our PTO so how you read it is incorrect. But if you guys are able to input it and no one is removing it, more power to you!!! Enjoy your time off cuz you need it!!! ;)

LOL! No PTO can be used for the next few months? Ludicrous. MTO is open and being well utilized by everyone I know. The only complaint I hear as a mgr is that colleagues cant schedule any within the next 12-14 days, but thats always the case due to pending schedule release. Other than that, it is no problem at all. Perhaps some stores are not allowing it, but clearly many are. That is an odd discrepency, but then again circumstances are different in different areas of the US. But to keep insisting that no one can get time off or use their well earned PTO is beyond ridiculous, and downright misleading. (((smh)))

No PTO can be used for the next few months. I have no idea if anything will roll over, most likely no. I understand your point about being able to see family, but at the same time, this virus hasn't gone away. Same precautions need to be taken. I am hesitant about visiting family in my same city, especially the children. We as a family are still not getting together as we will all be more exposed as we return to work. So we are not taking a risk with bringing something to each other and especially the kids.

Hopefully they will extend PTO to be rolled over to next year.

I think you need to read a newspaper. Yes agreed we all want to be able to have some fun this summer. I also want to be able to pay my bills for the next few years. So if I have to sacrifice this summer then oh well.... I've already been stuck home for 10 weeks!
