Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

How disgusting is Xerox HR!!!

How disrespectful can this company be. At this point in this game we are starting furloughs? Businesses are opening back up... so at the sacrifice of our customers we are letting go of half our techs. The one department that is leaned on for EVERYTHING! At least on the XBS side. As FSM of 15 years I am completely disgusted at the call I was on Friday with Xerox HR. They were making jokes and laughing throughout the meeting.
I am embarrassed to be a part of this company and will do everything I can to bring our most valuable employees back. The people that sacrifice so much time in effort to keep this Sh– SHOW a float! When sales turns their back after paperwork is signed.
JV makes millions a year and has the balls to show his face on Clovid-19 updates.
There is life after Xerox! Good luck!

There was a time, ended around 2000, when the HR function carried a high value, because they listened to, assisted, and stood up for the employee. Like many things at X that helped make the company be a source of pride amongst employees and the community, it's long gone. Nowadays, the function seems to be an adversary to the employee, a tool of the elites.

I was xerox sales. How disgusting is Xerox HR? Yoh Mama joke? HR is a cushy gig. Zero skin in the game - just management mouth pieces. No respect for 'em. I find their giggling affirming. Sales used to be kind of respectable when we had something intelligent to sell, but the world chamged and we did n't. But even then arrogant, zero substance sales reps high fiving each other for mindlessly flipping fleets sky high over list on put them on a 72 month term...But then don't hate the player right?
Oh well, this will be over soon. Enjoy your dividend Carl & co... Looks like there's still a bit of meat on the x-bone. https://industryanalysts.com/52220_xerox/

Sad, I know onsite reps at a the major 24/7 customer in Atlanta got canned, 30 plus years of great work from him. Customer is p-ss-d, I am to. Retired in 2009, wish you guys knew the glory days of the company. I started when I was 18. Parts center then Printing Systems, 9700, 4135 series, DP180 and more.

Not a sales guy, but I agree with sales guy 100%. You have to comp the sale force at the level offered to attract them to the company. Without a productive sales force, the rest of us can go home. Are they overcomped occasionally, sure, by there are also many times they are undercomped so it works out. You cannot blame a rep for collecting on a plan that XRX offered. I’m sure non bonused levels think the same of bonused, non stock comp of stock comped and so on. If you don’t like you comp, the comp you agreed to, and covet someone else’s plan, get a new job. Sales reps drive revenue, and lack of revenue is by far XRX immediate problem. Ever try to sell during a pandemic?

Thanks for sounding like a sale guy, sales guy. This is why all those people listed complain about you. Now go wash your hands.

@3dnj+150De06p i love when techs, admin, ops all complain about sales. first off, prior to covid we were hiring reps all the time. you could have applied. second, sales reps have been impacted since day 1 of covid. when 50%+ of your income is tied to sales commissions, and you have no sales because some chinese woman doesn't know how to wash her hands, guess what? you have been collecting your full check for two months with little or no work to do. whining about the big bag meany sales people doesn't look good on you. we are all hurting.

Guys, get real. They've figured out that they can fire old employees by first 'furlowing' them. Start documenting the age of the techs that are furlowed to see if I'm right.

I was a 31 year employee and was furloughed. They say not more than 3 months. It is disappointing. Definately not a nice place to work. No rhyme or reason to who got the ax. Management is a problem.

@2mkr
I am right there with you?
We that were badged over to HCL over a year ago have gone through hell and back, given 3 days notice to take this sh– a– job or leave with no severence and denied unemployment, forced to train a foreignor to take our job, correct their work, do triple the work for the same $.......now you all are getting the same disrespect from Xerox as we got, they don't give a sh– about any of us.
Meanwhile nobody in sales impacted, at my core the managers are all useless, I haven't seen a new deal come through on a month but did any of them get furloughed or reduced hours? Nope!!!

Soooo you were ok with employees being rebadged and then termed? Maybe you should be more concerned with Sales Reps reporting to work collecting their paychecks, but on vacation posting about getting mani/pedis, at the beach (reposting pics so shows a different time) and going to diners not making much of an effort in support of their core. All employees at the cores make a difference and that was destroyed.

I would have expected this 6-8 weeks ago. Business was dead on the service side. Ow it’s getting busy again and Xerox decides to furlough. I’m from XBS core ESI in Virginia. They were hit hard. My area lost 9 of 11 techs. 2 that survived service the high end production equipment. There is no way they can service those and everything else. The geographical area is huge. Basically all of Central and Southwest VA covered by 2 techs. Xerox and ruined XBS former Global Imaging. Maybe HP should buy Xerox instead of Xerox wanting HP.

This is a furlough that has happened to the entire industry. I know many people at our competitors that have been furloughed for months now and are still out. How anyone thought we could not have any action during this is beyond me.

Why are the issue with HR a big surprise? When the coup took place, the head of Compensation created Johnny boy's compensation package under the direct orders of of Icahn mafia, i.e. Xerox's new Board. The same person is now both a company officer and head of HR.

Don't blame HR for this. They execute what senior leadership tells them to do. The new pay cycle starts tomorrow and no notice has been given. They won't do this until pay cycle after notice.

Welcome to the club!!! Contracts is busier than ever due to all the estimating of meters due to Covid19 and nobody able to give meters plus everybody is deferring payments on their lease/contract maintenance of which are so time consuming, you get half answers, no guidance and a reduced staff and hours off shore, so unfortunately we too are in this horrendous sh–show!!!

To Poster: can u please elaborate on some of the details and outcome of the call? They let go half of the service technicians ? For how long (temp or permanent?). You mention they were laughing - what was the context ?
I am not surprised in general - Xerox is an immoral and sh–ty company since John V showed up - glad I left last year when I did. Feel bad for my old colleagues left behind.
