To all these “anti macys” colleagues.... can y’all resign? Just do yourself a favor and gtfo. You sound like miserable cows giving birth. Dominos is hiring, go there.

Some of you may "be here for you Macys", but I guarantee that Macys is not here for you. Just ask everyone who has had their jobs outsourced or eliminated the past 5 years. Regardless of how loyal you are or how many years of service you have, you are nothing more than a number, an expense number. If your employment doesn't enhance the bottom line you will be let go in a heartbeat. Do you really think JG cares how you feel about the company?

I believe my store is strong af and jealousy is one he-l of a thing. Regardless of what the future holds for my store I will support it until the VERY LAST DAY. I will always support Macy’s!

Unfortunately, it’s also been quite disappointing to see this place succumb to a constant stream of trolling, inaccurate and misleading information, and worst of all - market bro’s who seemingly get off on belittling anyone who they see as inferior. It’s disgusting.

That said, we should also maintain (and manage) the expectation that (some) things will likely look very different than before, but do so from pragmatic approach. Despite what some want you to believe— this isn’t the Macy’s apocalypse. There is and will be a future.

I look forward to seeing some of again real soon. Stay positive and spread some love! We’re all gonna be alright.

I was a 17 year big M employee, and the decline started long before this virus. Everyone needs to do their financial homework and look at the big M realistically. Acceptance is the first step, please don't think that EVERYONE will have their jobs. Remember JG is already planning closure of the "neighborhood" stores. Good luck & be informed!

I’m curious how anyone is so desperate they can only rely on a job at a sinking company, why would people settle for working for $10 or $15 an hour, there are so many options out there, go back to school, learn a trade, work in the medical field, get a real estate license, do something, working at a dying retail store is ok for a teenager living with mom and dad, but for a grown adult they should better themselves, move on up in life, good god.

Macy’s will be around for a long time even if it files for bankruptcy as it did back in the 1990s (I doubt it will this time). Why? It has $5-8 billion worth of real estate, outsells Amazon apparel and has the strongest brand among its competitors (and the very best employees!!).

Yea. Macy’s is toast...maybe they will have a small number of stores left, who knows, but things are gonna change and not for the better.
