Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Exhausted and expendable

I recently heard somebody working at Walmart or something similar say on TV that essential basically just means exhausted and expendable and boy, did it hit home. That's exactly how I've been feeling for the past month or so. Especially the expandable part. And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one.

Perfect description.

You might have good intentions but you fail to realize that you're on the wrong side here. Don't you see? Your hard work is exactly equal to their efforts for all the good it's doing you. If they can make a profit on the people you're talking about working here then all you're doing by working hard is giving them more money in return for the same payout as the lazy people.

The lucky ones were/are the ones that got the company paid 2 week or 4 week vacation because they were “at risk.” At my store a few have returned to work and they aren’t wearing masks or social distancing from customers or other associates. They also aren’t helping out either, just standing at their desks talking. A couple of older associates who put off asking for time off have been denied. Doesn’t seem right, stay and help make record profits and not be recognized for your efforts.
