Anyone else notice that Orlando put together a task force with top leaders from the major industries here. Both of the BIG theme parks assigned an EVP and SVP. What does Sea World assign?? A park VP.

I once asked my boss about us no longer having ECMs anymore since the last one that was scheduled ended up cancelled (And was supposed to be rescheduled but quietly never was). I was told the new park president did not like holding them.
I cant imagine why after the performance when I had my session for the benefit cuts. It was awful. Anything outside of the powerpoint he could not answer then so there largely is no incentive for him to hold any at this point. If/when we do get back, there will be a lot of questions.
Its sad that our own employees don't know who their park president is. Not the employee's fault, its leaders not leading from the front and being visible to the employees. When was the last ECM? They won't have them anymore because it word turn into a disaster. They would need to hire armed security.
Good park presidents from the BEC days knew nearly every employee, could tell you about their family, kids, etc...Orlando had some great ones. That was family. This is a mess.
Thank you for the reply and info!
RE: Whos park president.. See the link below. It hasnt changed.

Meaning interim became permanent.
I can tell you zoo staff is at a minimum and they are rotating to try to cover all shifts that are needed.
The person sent to the task force from seaworld can be viewed here -

Who did they send?? I could use a good laugh.
Who is even the Orlando Parks President right now? And who are the 5% of staff kept on? Anyone know? Would it be VPs and animal care staff? Could pretty much furlough the VPs and keep more animal care staff!
Come on guys, they gotta save some cash to pay for those c suite bonuses by sending someone lower from an Orlando park!
I’m also feeling like the task force banned Seaworld from sending anyone with “Executive” in the title because they're worried the person would quit after 6 months depending on how long this task force is assembled for.
Im having some major laughs at the VP in question being added... and its the one at Discovery Cove. DC alone has virtually nothing to run vs seaworld or even aquatica here.
Yet then again when I think about it.. of all the VPs they could have picked few of them have been with the company in a high level role in orlando for a longer period. So maybe they just went with someone who knew orlando.
Either way,
That was very well said.
That's all that is left. Where is the Park President????
The Orlando Park's President would have traditionally taken on a role like this. That job used to be a pillar of the community and work with the press, etc... Now, the whole company is such a sad dumpster fire....no one knows who is in charge (on a local level) or who is left to even stand in front and lead. Every good leader has been fired, laid off or just quit via Mr. Ross.
I remember when BEC was bigger and made more EBITDA than Universal. We were one of the best theme park companies in the world, hands down....Now I'm sort of embarrassed to have it be such a big part of my resume. We have zero respect in the industry or community. Three wheels have come off the bus and the 4th is definitely loose. Sad, sad, sad...
