Anyone else blessed to participate in the Cash Only episode on 18 April 2020?
So glad my managers had no idea about the paper invoice alternative for taking plastic money payments.

Seems system was down over 2 hours, we were doing the paper forms for credit until the lines got so long management said F it and announced cash only.

Yep, us too. System was down for around an hour. Accepting cash only. Store was packed. I personally lost out on about 5K worth of appliance sales. Happy to say that after what the company has put us through over the past year I couldn't care a less about the lost sales. 90% of our customers are not shopping for essential items but are in the stores because they are bored out of their minds. Also had our Genesis 5.1 screens timing out today due to communication issues with Sterling. I could go on but what's the point. Lets go hire a bunch of 6 figure software engineers to re-host our web pages but Lowe's is apparently incapable at hiring anyone competent enough to actually fix the important stuff. And don't even get me started on all the Genesis to Sterling hand off issues for us cross-dock stores. To steal a line from Star Trek II... "I'm laughing at your superior intellect". Well played Lowe's, give yourselves another bonus and go back to doing some stock repurchases as you clearly don't understand what it's like being on the front lines in retail.

The system to take both plastic money and checks was down.
A fellow employee said it had the characteristics of a denial of service attack.

Could someone elaborate on what a "Cash Only" episode is?
Did Lowe's credit card processing system break?
