Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Is any manager getting the axe this time?

During PayPaal days: Schlumberger loved to get rid of hard working people and save jobs of do-nothing managers.

Same this time as well?

LR needs to get rid of their "quality micro-manager".

I think that Germond is (or was) a good upper manager. He is personable and seems to care about the employees at that facility. I was referring to most of the shop floor managers at that campus.

I have absolutely NO LOVE for the Rankin Campus management; with the exception of maybe, just maybe, one or two unbiased managers that I didn't get the chance to work under for the time that I was employed there.

@2bce+14y7Pffj. if SLB doesn’t care about performance with this type of achieveMent and track record then take the layoff as a blessing. If not laid off - leave as soon as u find a better opportunity somewhere else. This is a big eye opener to everybody who is reading this.

Being an Ex-SLB manager that received 18 Exceeds Expectations on his SLP-3, 4 promotions in SETC, Ban 6 level pay scale, gave everything he had to the company including non-paid overtime and weekends, working on holidays and vacations, in the end did it matter? Nope. Having close ties to multiple people at the executive level, both still working and retired, hear this, no one is safe and no one is protected. You are a number in a big company and that's it. It doesn't matter if set records in Rapid Response as far as revenue. It doesn't matter if you saved the company millions in manufacturing costs and non-conformances, it doesn't matter if you were recognized as an SME in design, sustaining, manufacturing, testing and qualification. None of it matters. I honestly thought I was safe from everything listed above and then some. Nope. No loyalty. The only thing I can say is be prepared, update your resume and LinkedIn profile and stay strong. God Speed to everyone and good luck.

The pig center head hates Texans and everything Texas gives him. Irony is that he is married to an Asian who saves his a– and helps him to keep his job afloat. But he hates Asians including south Asians and everyone except French and helps all distressed French thru his church and connections.

I am very curious to know. Who is this french old man and her wife? It can be easy to find if they are still there. Any clues?

I am pretty happy SLB keeps more mo–n managers. It will accelerate SLB to going down. a few years later, SLB bankruptcy, those people lost their pension. Base on their "profession" recorded, arrogant manner, and poor knowledge. The only job is the Fruit dealer and goes back where they come from.

I am aware of a surprising high manager in rosharon. And someone not close to retirement. I do not think anyone will be safe this round.

Yes, they always layoff the people that work and keep the so called managers that do absolutely nothing.

Managers are still much better protected. Too many "managers" who only have less than 5 people under their supervision. Of course, many of them are still clueless about what they are doing.
