Everyone of my store has stopped sanitizing. Especially the loaders. We are too burned out, and disgusted to care. The loaders stopped doing the carts because they said they can’t keep up and if the customers don’t care about us as why should we care about them? The cashiers stopped sanitizing because they said there’s no time and customers just keep pushing their way up to the counter because the lines are so long. The departments stopped sanitizing because they’re too exhausted and can’t bring up enough energy to spend the time doing it. Most have just started hiding in the break room or in the bathrooms for the last couple of hours after close. None of the managers are enforcing any of it. As long as things get down stocked and put away, they don’t care. They are too busy hiding in the offices all day. There are a few hold outs that still try to take the time out to sanitize their departments but they’re quickly becoming disenfranchised as well.
No one where is wearing masks or PPE, not that any of them even know that it’s available because nobody told them. But the general consensus now that we are so buried, and beat up from this and from the company not giving two sh–s about us, that everyone is in agreement that they will just get sick. That having an entire store full of people getting Covid is better than dealing with this nightmare. That’s where were at.
