If anyone should be layed off, it should be that position

We have 3 at our store. 2 of them are awesome. Always there to help and be there for us. The other one follows the SM around all day like a living shadow. When the SM isn't there he hides in an office all day and practically falls asleep. When he's not on his phone texting that is. He's the golden child though so whatever.
ASM’s are a dime a dozen, at Macy’s, Dillard’s, JC Penny etc.... As a former store manager I can tell you that ASM’s are not the best and the brightest contrary to what people believe, sometimes we would promote employees to the ASM position with the sole intention to get rid of them (sort of like setting them up to fail), the real valued employees are the long term sales specialists that in some cases make a higher hourly rate than an
asm.
Waste of payroll and manpower
We have one asm that we would miss, he’s a great guy; the other two are a–holes and should of been gone long ago.
