What happened to those 30k we were supposed to add? Has anybody actually been hired? At my store, there were zero new hires, and believe me when I tell you that we desperately need more people.
So what's going on with that? Was it just said and then forgotten or are other stores at least getting some help?
My store is hiring. Continually understaffed. 50% of applicants that pass interview & make it to D–g Test fail. Many that reach a work schedule status, work a few days & et.
Those that stay get computer training(what a waste) & then ONLY OJT. Must learn Zebra on their own.
ASMs are so overloaded they have no time/desire to check on newbies.
This store has had no Manager so far this year 2020. New manager on the way as are three new ASMs. I sure hope things get better. Old Timers, 10-15 yrs, don't expect much.
Saturday, 4/18, with "shelter in place" order in our state, our store was in CHAOS!!! Long, long lines, 60-80', no social distancing possible. Biggest crowds ever seen by staff, "way bigger than Black Friday". Credit card terminals down for over an hour. Customers abandoned merchandise in the waiting isles. What a mess.
My store definitely is. hired a pro specialist, 2 front loaders, 3 MST’s, 3 OSLG, 2 Paint and too many cashiers and overnight people for me to try to keep up with. I came to work a few mornings ago and didn’t recognize half the names on the schedule. Last week was the best coverage ive ever seen, no code 3’s or cart pages.
We’ve hired about five new associates at my store, I see them in the break room - not a lot, but not on the sales floor so I’ve no idea what they do. Some of our college students are also back this summer. So we are up about nine associates, but down about 50 % of our regular associates.
I’m a cashier who they have pulling internet orders. Many departments in my store don’t have anyone In them right now as they have made an “internet team” to pick internet orders. Now if customers would just show up and get their purchases. We have stuff staged everywhere.
