Across the conglomerate, different business units are laying off people and taking actions to reduce payroll expenses. GE Digital just went through another management shuffle (same vp’s and senior/executive bands in new position titles). Consolidation with GE Power and GE Oil & Gas has consequences for original GE Digital employees, and the business will lose irreplaceable knowledge and talent. On top of all that, the constant change over the last year affects customers like Exelon, Marathon Oil, and P&G, as they become disillusioned by streaming new faces. Customers themselves often end up being the ones to onboard GE members; they become frustrated creating a vicious cycle of dwindling GE revenues and worsening management tactics. This will be an HBR case study one day.
