Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

I watched a manager pitch a total fit in front of customers screaming that she wasn’t gonna put a face mask on her face no matter what the government tells her to do. She said she would just “pay the fine”, that she’ll be damned if she’s putting one of “those things “on her face, and she would only do it over her dead body. A customer, who did have a mask on, yelled at her, “it will be, sweetheart!”

I have been to far to many funerals of co-workers that were to manly to wear ppe (not lowes). Cancers did not care how tough they were.
I will wear gloves and a mask for as long as I want. More to protect others than security to protect me.

It is all false news until someone you know dies.

CLOSE THE DAMN GARDEN CENTERS !

I know, I get harassed for wearing a Trojan over my head for protection.

In my store I would estimate about 40% of our hourly associates wear masks but only about 10% of the managers (hard to talk clearly on the phone when wearing face covering). Recently have seen an increase in customers wearing PPE; I would estimate about 50% of them with a larger percentage seen on the elderly. The only time I have ever mentioned anything to someone wearing PPE is when someone is wearing gloves and I see them keep adjusting their face protection. I point out it doesn't enter via your hands and that every time they touch their face (gloves or not) they are putting themselves at risk. In some counties in my state it is now mandatory to have face covering when out and about. Have a feeling mandatory face covering is going to become part of the solution for reopening larger portions of our economy. Just think of it as you value your health more than them or use the good old standby and tell them to go f-ck off.

One of my favorites is... when a customer wants to return a late item
and they say ...."no one told me there was a time frame"

I’m sure I have sh–ty self-entitled customers who think the world should snap to attention because they are in the store.

The other day we had a customer demand that we find the appliance specialist and bring her to the department to answer his questions; she had gone home to feed her pets as she is fostering a mother dog and her puppies in addition to her own dog.

This jackass went through four associates and a manager before the appliance specialist arrived back at the store.

I can just hear it now....(in reference to customers wearing ppe)
customer..."Do you know how long iv'e been a Macy's customer?"
customer..."I want to speak to your store manager,,,NOWWWWWWWW"
customer..."no wonder Macy's is going out of business"

I’ve learned on here that y’all either exaggerate situations or you work in an area with the sh1ttiest people in existence. we don’t this issue in our store. In fact our management team all wear mask and gloves and encourage as many people to wear them as they can. At the end of the day you have to worry about you. To hell with them if it’s not a serious issue for them. Double down on and bedazzle your PPE. Screw them

In PA it is now required for customers and employees, gonna be fun sending away those without it.

At my store everyone is wearing masks snd gloves. Sux that you havd to work in a store like that.

We dont have this issue at our store at all. If someone has a issue with you wearing them, tell them to pound sand? Not that hard. I've done this several times and the point got across real quickly.
