Management could have cut the same deal as the airlines to protect employee jobs. They chose not to do that. They're going to try and get through on loans. That way they can "remake" the company. How many 10, 20, 30 year employees were fired yesterday. Was that a coincidence or part of their plan. All of senior management and the Board (who let them destroy this company) should be removed.

They fire the senior most for a reason. To wreck a havoc in their life. The company saves a lot at the cost of experience, but for those affected it becomes difficult to find as job easily due to age discrimination. It's difficult to find a new job after 50...stat shows.
To those who were impacted stay positive there is life after Hertz. One that is simply amazing. You will be amazed to see how great companies treat and appreciate their employees.
The end is near. The nothing at stake for executives so the poor decisions made have no impact on them. Their exit plan is already written and they will walk away with plenty of cash. For the poor folks who have dedicated 20+ years you are simply bump in the road.
