Thread regarding ConocoPhillips layoffs

Can we expect a complete shutdown of operations?

ow probable is it for COP to shut down all operations for a certain amount of time. We have witnessed shutdowns and fleet demobilizations at certain locations due to the Covid-19 threat. Let’s face it, if the virus continues to spread at this pace, it won’t be long before any location in the US will be in the condition that it’s too dangerous to continue operations. How far are we from a complete shutdown, and can the company survive that?

We will be able to work without fear until a vaccine becomes available.

LOL... the only time the ELT acts decisively is when the compensation committee approves their annual pay package.

That would require decisive action from our leaders. Ain’t going to happen! They will study and analyze for two years and then things will have changed, so they won’t have to act.

In the short-term, though, expect layoffs so they can reward their friend in the ELT and friends in the LF.

COVID-19 is just a way to destroy the economy and beat Trump in November. There's no real danger as far as getting sick...No more than the regular flu........It's terrible what they are willing to do to working families to gain control.........Oil prices just adds to the hurt but people need to get back to work and layoffs need to stop or getting the virus will be the least of our worries.
