So every past contract union president says pension funding is most important to keep it going. so now all of a sudden they want us to just give it up!! Not me I'll be voting NO on the proposal. WE DESERVE BETTER REPRESENTATION!! If we allow ourselves to lose our pensions its something we can never negotiate back in a wage reduction to keep pensions should have been our choice!!

That sounds like a fantastic idea. You gonna start this rolling? Count me in!!
Quit crying. If you want a guarantee. Then cash out your 401k and invest in gold and apple stock. Otherwise. Join forces in a class action lawsuit and go against DFA somehow.
Our pension is a number game who ever thinks it’s going to b there in the end is a fool go to the meetings and c how our numbers are shrinking how can they keep funding till the last person
Better yet look at other companies that ran out of money
Stop being scared fight for once they are not pulling out of sale if you had a union business agent with balls he would tell you the same
You guys seem scared : )
After being involved with the negotiating of a few Dairy Plant CBA’s in the past, I can tell you this.....
Every CBA has a dollar amount attached to it ( raises, holiday pay, overtime, breaks, sick leave etc.). The company must be comfortable with that dollar amount or back to the table you go. With the pension out of the picture which is big bucks, it may allow its members to better negotiate these said items (which are important to any employee on a daily basis) more to / in their favor.
The pension is a deal breaker for DFA and you must accept that fact and move forward from this point on. If you don’t, you can expect some of the 40 or so Plants to be closed to make up the pension short fall. Trust me, there are some purchased DF Plants DFA can live without.
We were told that in 10 years the pension fund would be about out of money and than worthless and we will get nothing
You’ll still get your pension up to the point of the sale. Whatever you’ve paid in up til now will be frozen and you will get it when you retire. From here on you’ll have the choice of 401K
And to those who are retiring in 10 years what do we do to live ? We have been working for years counting on a pension
Every plant can't shut down. Where will all the milk go to? I could see the locals that vote no; their plants could be shut down possibly.
A no vote means the buyers will pull out completely and then more than likely every facility will be shut down. But yeah, by all means vote no and be a tough guy and think you're gonna stick it to the man. Does common sense not exist anymore???
Spoken like a true mo–n that has no spouse or family dependent upon you to provide for them. Either that or you're just an a-hole who doesn't care. A majority vote of no means a lot of families out of work and in the current climate how could you possible think that's a good thing.
You vote NO and you still go to work for a new owner, just without a CBA. You're not hurting the new owner in any way. You can quit at that point, but a NO vote doesn't affect the upcoming change of ownership in any way.
I'd rather vote no and watch both crooked companies fade off the face of the earth. all it is is one dying company being bought for nothing. we vote no and we take our chances
Vote NO and have entire CBA voided-pensions, wages, health benefits, job protection all become at DFA or Prairie Farms discretion.
Vote YES and keep everything but pension gets replaced with a 401K.
Not that diificult to understand that those are the only 2 options.
And maybe you haven't been paying attention to the news lately. Few places hiring and lots of people looking for work.
After you vote no, just keep repeating what you just said in your head while we're all social distancing while standing in line at the welfare office. You'd be an id–t to vote no. There is no greener grass and there is no other side.
