I understand that a lot of the layoffs are coming from power and aviation but has anyone gotten word on if the lounges will close as a result of this? We rely pretty heavily on our lounges as we work with complicated engineering programs and would hate to have to rely on the online support.

On the one had, I am sorry but the GE websites are just one giant clusterf*k of a mess, and don't get me started on the Indian tech support help line. But on the other hand, where I work, the IT lounge guys have been very helpful, and they are doing their best to keep us all going and working from home. IMHO, keep those IT lounge guys well paid no matter what till the end of GE, the good ones anyway, but loose the Indian support center, those people are absolutely useless.
I’m a mytech guy. I’ve been told some of us are safe. Regardless, I’m applying elsewhere because I plan to have a kid and buy a house next year.

GE IT customer support, in a nutshell.
Yep already out the door. Make sure you applaud your visionary Aviation supply chain VP for this.
Make sure you keep dialing 1-800-NOHELP1. LOL, I love this post it exposes the pure lack of vision very nicely. They couldn't run a real business in a million years.
I remember my old co-worker calling the no helpline. LOL
'Hello.....Hello, I cannot understand you.' This brings back some awesome memories.
LOL!!!! Great post !
