Priorities, in decreasing order:
C Suite lining their pockets, meeting Carlie's objectives.

Keeping up appearances to outside world, the smokescreen.

Supporting their employees (probably too highly ranked)

Its nice that Xerox is building ventilators.
However, I still have to buy my own gloves since Xerox hasn't provided.
Xerox has provided a few masks for our team, not enough for everyone.
Xerox has provided some sanitizer for some of the guys, not all.

Our own front line employees should be John V's first consideration.

ridiculous.

The C suite is adept at blowing smoke, so that could be a good QA strategy

Xerox Senior Management should be the initial test case for all ventilators produced..
Webcast to all employees ...Let the games begin !

What in building 208 is being vended out to job shops? It's still the IWF building last I knew...

CXUwr, Xerox used to be excellent at manufacturing, now they can't do anything well - it's all vended out to job shops. The manufacturing VP is an incompetent "yes man" who only cares about cash in his own pocket -ethically bankrupt. Dont think for a minute this is anything more than a me too publicity stunt to drive up stock on thecoat tails of a global pandemic.

Unfortunately, the so-called ventilators are not meant to be used in the ICU. They are only meant to be used for very short period of time. They are disposable, and Xerox is not making the high-quality machines this country needs. Would you want your loved one hooked up to a disposable ventilator?

I lived in Wayne county 315 land for many years, loved it. Now in Roch, with regrets. I head back there as often as I can for fresher air and thinking. The area takes a bad rap.

315ers is a somewhat derogatory reference to people who live in Wayne County, a mile to the east of the Webster campus. It is a rural, conservative county and happens to have the area code 315 instead of the 585 area code in more populous Monroe County New York, which is where the Town of Webster is located. To call someone a 315er is akin to calling them a "hillbilly" or a "redneck". Not such a great term, for those who live there. The cost of living, especially housing and taxes, is less than in Monroe County, and so has attracted Xerox employees as a place of residence over the years.

This product, while useful in some settings for short periods of time, isn't going to have much demand. It provides static periodic breaths to lungs that are not breathing at all.

We need more ICU vents that can be triggered to assist with natural breath, and programmed to deliver x many breaths per minute if the patient doesn't induce it.

10 years ago Xerox could have been making what Dyson is making.

What are 315ers?

They're as timely as they've ever been. Where were they last month when all this started??? So many companies are doing this. Parading news about how "they're helping" or "they're giving X millions" all in the name of free publicity. Its unlikely we'll ever see proof of all of this happening at these companies.

But the important thing happens at least.......positive publicity! (saving lives? nah....publicity is more important)

Xerox will view this as low intensity mfg. so they can pay minimum wage to those involved .... and will probably outsource when no one is looking ....Have seen this behavior in the past ...

Be interesting to hear the spin on this from the current employees that are 315ers. It's too bad this used to be a great company. Now it's full of lazies that didn't get out when the economy was good and will have to settle for minimum wage.

Be interesting to hear the spin on this from the former employees that troll the site. It's too bad because this used to be a great place to share info. Now it's full of $10 hour ex-employees to moan.

It's nice, but also ironic that a company on life support is making ventilators

Xerox is excellent at manufacturing. This will be a great product. For all those involved in this project, be proud of your contributions and thank you.

The manufacture of ancient machines does not mean they are second rate machines.

What machines currently built in Webster do you consider to be second rate?

Hope the quality is better than what they currently manufacture...which by today’s
internal standard is second rate machines.
