Thread regarding Hy-Vee layoffs

Coronavirus Procedures/Exposures

If you are aware of stores with employees testing positive for COVID-19, and other employees who may have been exposed are not being notified, please state the store location so state officials can be notified. Do not be afraid to save lives. Failure to disclose puts workers and customers ar risk. Only honest info posted here, please. This is a time of crisis. There are so many of us in the community who are grateful for your efforts to keep stores open at great personal risk to yourselves. We care about you.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to answer your question since Hyvee operates in several states and there may be local or state guidance as well. Federal CDC guidance indicates employers are to notify those who have been exposed to someone who tests positive. If the self-quarantined person tests positive, then employees exposed to that person should also be notified, without revealing the identity of the sick employee. It notes that if an employee is well, but is self quarantining due to exposure to the virus (such as caring for a sick person), they should notify the employer, but it does not indicate that the employer must notify employees of this. The link to the CDC guidance is noted below.
"Employees who appear to have symptoms (i.e., fever, cough, or shortness of breath) upon arrival at work or who become sick during the day should immediately be separated from other employees, customers, and visitors and sent home.
If an employee is confirmed to have COVID-19 infection, employers should inform fellow employees of their possible exposure to COVID-19 in the workplace but maintain confidentiality as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The fellow employees should then self-monitor for symptoms (i.e., fever, cough, or shortness of breath)."
"Sick employees should follow CDC-recommended steps. Employees should not return to work until the criteria to discontinue home isolation are met, in consultation with healthcare providers and state and local health departments.
"Employees who are well but who have a sick family member at home with COVID-19 should notify their supervisor and follow CDC recommended precautions."

Does this also go for people who were exposed and have to quarantine? Not sure if they tested positive or not. Please let me know.
