did any departments have high % of reductions and/or manager removal, ex. to setup for department consolidation?
Overall, the cuts in the business units seemed minimal. I figured there was some small chance the only people standing would be the production engineers, a few reservoir engineers focused on valuation, and landmen to keep lease records clean
seems like a 8-10% reduction across production, reservoir, geology. i can't tell on drilling, completions, or other departments
Ok, Tuesday instead of Monday.
I was wrong by 24 hrs.
Not bad.....
The CIO did clearly imply to the entire IT org that the layoffs would happen this week.
The 2 Bobs: We find it's always better to fire people on a Friday. Studies have statistically shown that there's less chance of an incident if you do it at the end of the week.
It never happens on Mondays.
