With unemployment pay being $600 a week PLUS your normal state benefit, 99% percent of us hourlies would make far more on unemployment. All this union talk and "plumbing issues" always seem to come up. Well correct me if I'm wrong but I'm pretty sure laid off due to plumbing issues would qualify for unemployment. I'm not saying you've got nothing to lose, just that you'd likely make around $900 a week to safely sit home and collect unemployment....

Is there a way to take the leave and get unemployment without getting fired though? Im terrified to walk into work everyday and because I need the money i force myself to show up. Not trying to be a moocher but come on...Ive worked hard for 30 years now and never received unemoloyment why cant i get a break
Half our store is taking leave to collect unemployment or just not showing up. We had three people out of 15 tonight to stock.
Depends on your state.
